IntroductionThis is the documentation for the overview of Data Manager Portal (DMP from now on). On this page we will take a look at DMP and show you all the different elements. We will also show you how to configure the dashboards, so that you'll be presented with the information that you want.
1. Start Data Manager PortalBefore you can start DMP, you must have an activated license for the application. You can find more information on how to import licenses right here. Once DMP is activated, start it by going to Start >> S4M Data Manager >> DM-Portal. Your default browser will popup and a login screen will appear. Fill in the needed credentials and click on login (See figure 1).
2. InterfaceOnce logged in, you will see the DMP working environment. (See Figure 2). Like the ESB Client Overview, Figure 2 is also divided in different sections:

Figure 2: DMP Overview divided in 3 sections
We'll explain the sections one-by-one:
2.1 BrowserIn this vertical accordion menu there are several buttons and all of them will open a new tab in the canvas. It is the main navigation through DMP. The browser pane is divided in 4 different sections:
- View admin
2.1.1 PortalThese are several display options to show data. There are 3 items in the Portal menu:
126.96.36.199 BasicThe basic window is just like Dashboard and DashboardSmall. It is a collection of windows with information that is loaded via CSV and XML files. There is a small tutorial on how to configure those screens at paragraph 188.8.131.52 (below).
184.108.40.206 DashboardLike described above, it will open a tab in the canvas. It will load a lot information about views and workflows. The default elements are: CI Data source consistancy, CI Relocations, Transaction Workflows, CI Purchase Workflow, CMDB Integrations Workflows and User Workflows (See Figure 3). The information is gathered from CSV and XML files. These files are located in: APPDIR\DMESB\DataDemoChart *.
Figure 3: The dashboard tabIf you want custom charts, you can create them by copying and pasting both a CSV and XML file. Give the CSV and XML an appropriate and same filename (The filename can't have any spaces in it). For example: Stats.csv and Stats.xml. Open the XML file you just created in a text editor (ex. Notepad). Once opened, you see a couple of tags and attributes with data. Change the value of the Name attribute to the filename (without extension. Beware, this is case-sensitive. In this example Name="Stats"). There are more attributes found in the XML file: CharType: This must either be 'bar' or 'line' (ex. CharType="line"). The value 'bar' will show a chart like "Transaction Workflow" where the value 'line' will show a chart like "CI Relations" on Figure 3 Then open the CSV and change the values to your needs. If the files are created and altered, there is only one thing left to do. Go to APPDIR\DMESB\DataPortalLayout *. In there you might see something familiar. Basic.xml, Dashboard.xml and DashboardSmall.xml. These are the same names as the portal buttons. Since we want to change the appearance of the Dashboard, open Dashboard.xml in a texteditor (e.g. Notepad). You will see something like Figure 4. Add the line that is marked in red to add another column. The attribute Items must contain the filename of the XML/CSV. In the case of this tutorial, I created Stats.csv and Stats.xml. So the Items attribute must be: Items="Stats". Change Stats to the name you use. Save the XML file. Now go to your browser and refresh the page (Hit F5 or press the refresh button of your browser). Click on the Dashboard button in the browser pane. You'll see that another dashboard item has been added to the dashboard.
Figure 4: Add column tag with values to Dashboard.xmlThe DMP Service has a filewatcher that keeps track of the information in the CSV files. This means that if a CSV file changes, the data on the dashboard will reload in real-time. *APPDIR = C:\S4M_DM\ (Default install directory)
220.127.116.11 DashboardSmallThe DashboardSmall button does basically the same as Dashboard, but it has less data; CI Data source consistancy, CI Purchase Workflow and CI Relocations (See Figure 5). To change the loaded items, do the same as described above (at the Dashboard topic), but don't open Dashboard.xml, instead open DashboardSmall.xml. The rest of the steps are the same.
